St Giles House

A cabin bed like no other! A scale replica of the stunning St Giles House in Dorset, UK this was an epic build with some incredible levels of detail.
 
Designed for the Early of Shaftesbury and family this bed was made over a period of 3 months. The windows are to scale and with indiviual 'glass' (they were actually acrylic for safety reasons) window panes. Over 25,000 'bricks' were carved into the wooden panels to recreate, to scale, the brickwork of the real house. The window and doors were carved to scale from solid wood and the sky was handpainted by our resident artist, Dr Jo.
 
The bed features a play space underneath with sweeping staircase to the sleeping platform above, which is surrounded by a solid oak safety barrier.
 
All told this was a quite staggering piece of work and we're immensly proud of what we achieved.
